PUANA WAIWAI O NA HULU MAMO, 'O HAWAI'I NUI KUAULI
Hawai‘i Kuauli, or Hawai‘i Nui Kuauli, is one of the traditional names for the island of Hawai‘i. The name honors Chief Hawai‘i Nui Kuauli, a legendary leader known for his deep connection to the land and his visionary approach to sustainable living.
Under his guidance, the island thrived—its people, ocean, and ‘āina (land) living in balance and abundance. Today, Hawai‘i Kuauli symbolizes a legacy of prosperity, stewardship, and cultural pride.
At the Hawaiʻi Kuauli Pacific & Asia Cultural Festival we celebrate this heritage by embracing the values of aloha, sustainability, and cultural unity that Chief Hawai‘i Nui Kuauli embodied.
